Reuters has officially launched digital subscriptions for its acclaimed website and mobile app to customers across Asia, beginning with Hong Kong, Japan, and Singapore. This expansion brings Reuters’ globally recognized, accurate, and unbiased news coverage to a broader audience in the region, offering a cost-efficient and transparent way to stay informed.
Simple Pricing, Unbiased Reporting
Subscribers in these markets can now enjoy unlimited access to Reuters’ award-winning journalism. The pricing is designed to be straightforward and clear:
- Hong Kong: HKD$8 (equivalent to approximately USD $1)
- Japan: JPY¥150 (equivalent to approximately USD $1)
- Singapore: SGD$1.5 (equivalent to approximately USD $1)
Unlike some other services, Reuters’ subscription model features transparent pricing with no hidden fees, introductory discounts that later increase, or unexpected charges. Users also have the flexibility to cancel their subscriptions at any time.
This move follows the successful launch of digital subscriptions in Europe, North America, Australia, and New Zealand. Website and app users will continue to have access to a limited number of free articles each month before being prompted to subscribe.
Delivering Value Through Global Coverage
Josh London, Head of Reuters Professional, emphasized the organization’s commitment to delivering truth from critical global locations, including conflict zones, government offices, and corporate boardrooms. “News outlets, financial institutions, companies, governments, and consumers rely on us to deliver the truth,” London stated. “The new subscription plan enables us to deliver more value to our subscribers by expanding the reach and capabilities of our reporting and products.”
Reuters boasts an extensive newsroom footprint with 2,600 journalists operating in 200 locations worldwide. This ensures comprehensive coverage of the most important global events, leaving no corner of the world unreported. Furthermore, Reuters’ journalism adheres strictly to the Thomson Reuters Trust Principles, guaranteeing integrity and freedom from bias in its reporting.
